Job summary

The City of Burnsville is seeking Public Works Trainees for openings in the Streets and Utilities divisions. These full-time, union-benefited, limited-duration positions provide up to two years of hands-on training and experience in maintaining and repairing the City's street and utility systems.

Trainees will work alongside experienced staff on street maintenance, snow removal, storm and sanitary sewers, water distribution, hydrants, and other public works operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of construction or maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license with ability to obtain CDL within nine months.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance and repair in streets and utilities.
• Assist with snow removal and street maintenance tasks.
• Support water distribution, sewer, hydrants, and related systems.
