Job summary

Town of Chestertown in Chestertown, Maryland seeks a dependable Street Worker I to join our Public Works team. The position pays $20.00–$22.00 per hour and requires a strong work ethic and ability to operate trucks and power equipment.

The role involves street and road maintenance, snow removal, landscaping, storm drain cleaning, sign installation, and heavy outdoor work. CDL is required; HS diploma or GED preferred. Reports to Street Supervisor and offers full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Valid CDL required.
• Construction, maintenance, landscaping, or public works experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Street and road maintenance and repairs
• Snow and ice removal
• Grass, tree, and landscaping maintenance
• Storm drain cleaning
• Street sign installation and maintenance
• Asphalt, concrete, and construction work
• Loading and unloading materials
• Trash and debris removal
• Operation of trucks, power equipment, and hand tools
• Other Public Works duties as assigned

Education
