Job summary

The Town of Frederick, Colorado seeks an Equipment Operator I/II/III to support Public Works by maintaining infrastructure, streets, stormwater operations, water utilities, and emergency response. Operators work with a range of vehicles and equipment, performing maintenance, construction, and repair tasks.

Positions range from Operator I to III with CDL requirements, training, and growth opportunities. Responsibilities include snow/ice control, traffic control, and ensuring safe, efficient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL with air brake and tanker endorsements required within 12 months of employment.
• Flagger/traffic control training and forklift certification may be required.
• Two years of Public Works or related field experience preferred.
• Experience with street, stormwater, utilities, and equipment operation beneficial.
• Operator III requires four years of progressive Public Works experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve streets, stormwater, and municipal infrastructure.
• Operate a variety of trucks, loaders, and heavy equipment safely.
• Perform snow and ice control and assist in emergency response.
• Complete work orders and keep equipment logs up to date.
• Provide guidance and support for less experienced staff.
