Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate's degree is desired, supplemented by considerable supervisory and public works operations (roads, grounds, fleet, and solid waste) experience.
• Consideration will be given to equivalent experience and training.
• Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of Connecticut.
• Possession of a CDL A or B license is preferred.
• Certification as a tree warden at time of appointment preferred; certification must be obtained and maintained within 6 months of appointment or at time of first available certification class, whichever occurs first.
• Certification as a Transfer Station Operator preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Public Works operations, including road maintenance, grounds maintenance, fleet maintenance, and solid waste operations.
• Plan, organize, and direct operational programs and staff.
• Serve as Town's Tree Warden; manage capital projects.
• Support Town committees, boards, and commissions; maintain records and files; prepare reports.
