Job summary

The Town of Duxbury is seeking an experienced DPW Operations Manager to coordinate daily operations of Highway, Transfer Station and Vehicle Maintenance. You will supervise subordinates, manage workloads and ensure safety and quality.

Under the DPW Director, you will plan budgets, oversee contracts, and implement paving and maintenance programs. A Bachelor’s degree and 7–10 years municipal experience are required; Class B license and hoisting engineer license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 7–10 years related work experience or equivalent.
• Municipal experience preferred.
• Strong budgeting and supervision capabilities.
• Knowledge of highway operations and public works processes.

Responsibilities

• Plans, assigns, schedules, and reviews subordinates’ work for Highway, Transfer Station, and Vehicle Maintenance.
• Supervises all employees and contractors; handles scheduling and performance management.
• Oversees safety, quality, and environmental compliance in daily operations.
• Manages contracts, procurement, and vendor relationships.
• Prepares and administers division budgets and capital plans.
• Coordinates emergency response and public communications as needed.
• Maintains records of maintenance activities and public projects.
