Job summary

The City of Goose Creek, SC, seeks an experienced automotive technician to perform maintenance on municipal vehicles and equipment. This full-time, non-exempt role will focus on preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across diesel, gasoline, and propane engines.

Responsibilities include repairing hydraulic and electrical systems, welding parts, installing equipment, and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational/technical auto repair training or 1 year related work experience.
• Two years of automotive work and repair experience.
• CDL Class B required within one year of hire.
• EVT Certification must be obtained annually.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on City vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair engines and transmissions.
• Repair hydraulic systems and weld/fabricate parts.
• Install police and fire equipment on vehicles.
• Maintain safety and attend safety meetings.
• Work in field and back up co-workers.
