Job summary

The City of Ventura is seeking a Maintenance Worker I/II to assist in the maintenance and repair of water systems and related public works. The ideal candidate should possess a strong work ethic, pride in service, and relevant experience in construction and maintenance work.

The position requires a California driver's license and certification as a Water Distribution Operator at various levels. A commitment to high standards and safe work practices is essential.

Qualifications

• 6 months of construction, maintenance, or related work experience required for MWI.
• 18 months of related maintenance experience for MWII or one year as MWI.
• Valid Grade D1 certificate and training for Water Distribution Operator I.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation, maintenance, and repair of water mains.
• Inspect and perform maintenance on wastewater treatment plant equipment.
• Perform street maintenance tasks and clean culverts.
