Job summary

The City of Boca Raton is seeking an entry-level semi-skilled worker for street maintenance and related tasks. You will perform maintenance assignments, operate common tools, and support crew under regular supervision to keep our coastal community safe and clean.

Qualified applicants have a tenth-grade education or equivalent and a valid Florida driver's license. The role offers benefits including health insurance, generous time off, and retirement plans in a supportive public service

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of street maintenance work and safety practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs streets, right-of-ways, seawalls, canals, bike paths, and storm sewers.
• Cuts and removes asphalt; smooths cut area.
• Shovels new asphalt onto cut area and rolls or tamps; repairs sidewalks.
• Lays asphalt and concrete; patches potholes, radii, and crossings.
• Operates various power tools in maintenance tasks.
