Job summary

The City of Boca Raton is seeking a maintenance worker to perform semiskilled construction, repair, and street maintenance tasks under supervision. You will operate common tools and assist with repairs to streets, sidewalks, and related infrastructure.

Qualifications include at least a tenth grade education and a Florida Class E license with minimal points; the role requires physical work and adherence to post-offer background checks.

Qualifications

• Completion of the tenth grade and six months of maintenance, repair and/or construction experience.
• Possession of a valid Florida Class E driver’s license with no more than six points in the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs streets, right-of-ways, sea walls, canals, bike paths, and storm sewers.
• Cuts and removes asphalt; smoothes cut area; tamp or rolls cut area.
• Repairs sidewalks; removes broken or dangerous sections and grades area.
• Forms sidewalks; places concrete into formed area; smoothes and finishes concrete.
• Operates power tools in conjunction with maintenance and repair tasks.
• Trims and prunes trees; maintains storm drain ditches and pipes.
