Job summary

Town of Flower Mound is seeking a Public Works Maintenance position to perform road, bridge, and sidewalk maintenance within town limits. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to operate varied equipment, with a Texas Class A CDL as a requirement within six months of hire.

Incentives are offered: a $1,500 sign-on incentive and a $1,500 referral incentive, with payroll tax deductions applied. A valid Texas CDL with endorsements must be obtained within six months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, repairs, and maintains roads, bridges, medians, right of ways, alleys, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and other public areas within the Town.
• Performs routine manual tasks such as asphalt and concrete work, loading/unloading, laying pipelines, patching potholes, and maintaining street surfaces.
• Operates, repairs, and maintains vehicles and light equipment like tractors, loaders, trucks, and related tools.
• Works safely near high-speed vehicle traffic and in median areas; identifies potential hazards and communicates with supervisor.
• Conducts daily inspections and preventative maintenance of vehicles and equipment; assists other departments as needed.
• Adheres to safety rules, and standby for emergency repairs at night and on weekends.
