Job summary

The City of Redwood City is seeking a Public Works Maintenance Worker I/II in the Wastewater Division to perform maintenance, installation and repair of sewer and stormwater systems. Responsibilities include operating trucks and power tools, coordinating with crews, and ensuring safe, efficient operations.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid California Class C Driver’s License, and the ability to obtain the required Class A CDL with tank endorsement and

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required for Worker I/II.
CDL Class C required; Class A with tank endorsement preferred within 12 months.
CWEA Grade 1 certificate required within 12 months for II; Driver's license must be valid.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain sewer and stormwater systems.
Operate trucks, loaders, pumps, and power tools.
Perform concrete work including forms and finishing.
Inspect drainage areas and remove weeds.
Set up traffic safety devices as needed.
Respond to after-hours emergencies as required.
Read and interpret maps; document tasks and inspections.
