Job summary

City of Redwood City Public Works Services Department is seeking a Public Works Maintenance Worker I/II in the Wastewater Division to perform semi-skilled and skilled tasks in construction, maintenance, and repair of the sanitary sewer collection system and storm drainage conveyance system.

This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing sewer mains, laterals, manholes, storm mains, and pump stations with supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain California Class A CDL with tank endorsement within 12 months.
• CWEA Collection System Maintenance Grade 1 certificate or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain sewer collection and stormwater systems.
• Operate construction and maintenance equipment (trucks, loaders, power tools).
• Inspect drainage areas and perform routine maintenance on infrastructure.
• Read maps of underground sewer and drainage systems and document tasks.
