Work Location: 1108 26th Avenue East, Bradenton, Florida 34208; 8500 69th Street East, Palmetto, Florida 34221; 36650 Arcadia Avenue, Myakka City, Florida 34251
Work Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
Expected Starting Hourly Range: $20.68 - $31.95
Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and construction activities in the multi-functional operations of the Manatee County highway and storm water systems. Works with assigned crew on infrastructure projects such as roads, storm drains, and bridges, following all safety standards and procedures.
Note: Job title and salary will be determined based on experience and skill level.
Working Conditions: Performs strenuous work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, on uneven terrain, in high noise environments, and involves lifting up to 50 lbs alone or 100 lbs with assistance. Must be able to drive county vehicles, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks requiring visual acuity, depth perception, hearing, and sound identification.
Essential Functions: Applies maintenance and construction knowledge to perform duties safely and efficiently. Works on infrastructure projects including roads, storm drains, bridges, marine construction, water distribution, backflow prevention, and sewer transmission. Follows safety standards.
