Job summary

Town of Nantucket's Department of Public Works is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and service a fleet of work vehicles and heavy equipment. The role requires operating and maintaining diverse machinery and using a variety of power and hand tools.

Ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent and up to three years of grounds/roadway maintenance experience, plus applicable licenses (Class D, Hoisting, CDL with tanker).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and up to 3 years in grounds and roadway maintenance.
• Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment operation and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Town vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Operate a range of light and heavy machinery (dump trucks, plows, bulldozer, loader, backhoe).
• Perform routine servicing and maintenance on tools and equipment.
