Job summary

The City of Show Low is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to keep our public infrastructure reliable and safe. Growth opportunities are available to progress to Maintenance Technician II with provided training and mentorship.

Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing water and sewer systems, maintaining records, locating lines before excavation, and operating a range of heavy equipment as part of a crew.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to perform outdoor and fieldwork in varied conditions.
• Must ensure safety and comply with health and safety regulations.
• ADEQ operator grade 1 certification within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and repairs water and wastewater infrastructure (pipes, meters, stations).
• Maintains records of inspections and maintenance activities.
• Responds to service complaints and locates utilities before excavation.
• Operates light and medium equipment (brooms, jetters, backhoes, loaders, excavators).
• Performs routine maintenance and supports construction projects as part of a crew.
• Complies with safety standards and continually seeks process improvements.
