Job summary

City Of Bowdon is seeking a Maintenance Worker for public works tasks including street and utility maintenance. The role involves outdoor work and vehicle operation, with responsibilities such as reading and replacing water meters, operating a backhoe and bushhog, and assisting with water/sewer system maintenance.

The position is full-time with benefits, and requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Basic math skills and good oral/written communication are needed.

Responsibilities

• Reads water meters as necessary.
• Replace damaged water meters.
• Operates chain saw and backhoe as needed.
• Cleans ditches and pipes,, maintains streets and public areas.
• Assist with water and sewer system maintenance.
• On call for emergency responses after hours, weekends or holidays.
