Job summary

A City Department is seeking a skilled individual to operate various equipment and perform maintenance duties associated with public works. Responsibilities include operating tractors, trucks, and other vehicles; performing maintenance on water systems; and picking up solid waste on assigned routes. A valid Texas Class C driver's license is required, while a Class B CDL is desirable. The position is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.

Qualifications

• One year experience in equipment operation and minor repair.
• One year of general construction experience.
• High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractors, mowers, and trucks for various tasks.
• Perform minor and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Pick up solid waste and recycled materials on assigned routes.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on water and wastewater systems.
• Respond to after-hours calls when necessary.
