Job summary

The Village of Palatine is hiring a Maintenance Worker to support the Utilities, Streets, and Forestry Divisions. The role includes operating a range of equipment, inspecting and repairing water and sewer infrastructure, and assisting with street and landscape tasks.

Candidates must meet education requirements and may need a valid Illinois CDL; on-call and overtime are expected. Compensation includes hourly hiring rate with full range.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as a laborer or maintenance worker in utility or municipal settings preferred.
• Valid Illinois CDL Class A or B with air brake and tanker endorsements, or ability to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain water supply and distribution systems incl. mains, hydrants, meters, and storage tanks.
• Maintain sanitary and storm sewers, lift stations, basins, and drainage features.
• Assist in streets and forestry duties as assigned and work flexible hours.
