Job summary

City of Stockbridge is seeking a Public Works Technician to perform general maintenance across city facilities, streets, sidewalks, and grounds. The role supports city events and municipal trash collection, requiring teamwork, safety awareness, and outdoor adaptability.

Responsibilities include operating tools and vehicles, responding to service concerns, and maintaining safe, clean city properties. A valid GA driver's license is required, with 2–3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Public Works knowledge and general maintenance practices.
• Safe operation and maintenance of tools, vehicles, and equipment.
• Operating power tools, vehicles, and maintenance equipment.
• Basic street, sidewalk, landscaping, and grounds maintenance.
• Setting up and breaking down equipment for events
• Physically demanding work including lifting and long periods of activity.

Responsibilities

• Maintain streets, sidewalks, public facilities, landscaping, and city property.
• Operate trucks, trailers, power tools, and equipment for maintenance.
• Set up and break down tables, chairs, tents for city events.
• Communicate professionally with residents and officials about service concerns.
• Follow safety procedures and work effectively as part of a team.
