Job summary

The City of Stockbridge seeks an entry-level Wastewater Collections Systems Operator I to perform maintenance, repair, inspection and upkeep of the City's wastewater collection systems and related infrastructure. The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, sewer-line cleaning, equipment operation, and documentation of readings and repairs.

The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, physically capable, and willing to obtain required wastewater licenses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year related work experience.
• Must obtain Georgia Wastewater Collection License within 12 months.
• Must obtain Georgia Commercial Driver's License within 12 months.
• Must obtain Flaggers License within 12 months.
• Valid Georgia driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wastewater collection system components through preventive and corrective work.
• Operate jet machines, rodding machines, vacuum trucks, and video inspection equipment for sewer-line cleaning & inspection.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, trucks, lights and other equipment; perform routine inspections and maintenance.
• Record pump and facility readings; monitor efficiency; document findings and reports.
• Perform landscaping, grading and general maintenance at sewer sites and Lift Stations.
• Assist in safety training and follow confined space, hazardous atmosphere and traffic safety procedures.
