Job summary

City of East Point is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform heavy manual labor across streets, drainage, water, sewer, and buildings and grounds. You will work as part of a maintenance crew under a supervisor.

Responsibilities include loading materials, patching potholes, operating weed eater, installing waterlines, and assisting in semi-skilled tasks. The role requires safety awareness and ability to communicate with diverse colleagues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Class C driver's license required.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor outdoors.
• Knowledge of safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains City sewer lines and landscapes.
• Conducts road construction and cleans streets.
• Installs waterlines and service taps.
• Patches potholes and repairs streets.
• Repairs and maintains City sidewalks and grounds.
• Loads and unloads heavy materials and equipment.
• Assists in semi-skilled work and runs errands.
• Performs other heavy manual work in maintenance of streets, roads and facilities.
• Assists in installation of storm drain pipes and construction of catch basins.
• Cleans up debris and disposes of trash from job sites.
• Keeps grass around public buildings and rights-of-way.
• Operates weed eater and grounds maintenance equipment.
