Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; related maintenance/construction experience preferred.
• Level II/III require 3+ years of maintenance/construction and heavy equipment operation experience.
• NC CDL Class B license or ability to obtain within 6 months; on-call availability.
• Ability to read blueprints and lay out projects; follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled and semiskilled tasks in public works construction, maintenance and repair of facilities such as streets and drainage.
• Gather tools, materials and supplies for assignments.
• Operate dump truck, rollers, backhoes, and other equipment; perform preventive maintenance.
