Job summary

City of Victoria, TX is seeking a Light Equipment Operator under general supervision to assist street and drainage crews by operating light equipment. This role includes daily inspections, reviewing work orders, and supporting concrete work as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of experience with light equipment, and a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement or the ability to obtain within 12 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent AND one year of experience operating light equipment.
• Must possess a Class B Commercial driver's license with air brake endorsement or obtain within twelve months of hire.
• Knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and work site safety setup.

Responsibilities

• Receives and reviews work orders; gathers materials and equipment for tasks.
• Conducts daily inspections of vehicles and equipment prior to use.
• Operates light equipment to assist with streets and drainage projects.
• Assists with concrete work: forms, rebar, patches and pours concrete.
• Completes paperwork including driving data and site forms.
• Maintains and services equipment; unloads/loads trucks and organizes materials.
