Job summary

City of Longview seeks a semi-skilled laborer to perform maintenance and repair across city assets, including streets, parks, and utilities. You will operate tools, maintain logs, and follow safety procedures, with opportunities to lead sanitation tasks as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with at least one year of basic maintenance experience, plus a Texas driver's license; CDL may be required for certain duties.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• One year of basic maintenance experience.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License; CDL Class A or B may be required for some tasks.
• Must lift 50–100 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled and general labor, maintenance and repair work.
• Collect solid waste, bulky items and recyclables as assigned.
• Operate hand tools and power tools; inspect and maintain vehicles.
• Complete required daily logs and reports.
• Follow safety regulations and report hazards and injuries.
