Job summary

City of Cedarburg is seeking a Public Works Superintendent to lead the Public Works Department, managing street maintenance, fleet operations, and safety programs. You will supervise eight full-time staff and seasonals, coordinate with the City Engineer, and support festival events to ensure safe, efficient city infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years in public works with supervisory experience, CDL, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in public works operations with supervisory experience.
• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• CDL required; strong communication, leadership and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily work schedules for eight full-time employees and seasonal staff.
• Oversee street maintenance: patching, crack sealing, painting, sign installation, sweeping, storm sewers.
• Direct snow removal/ice control, safety programs, and training.
• Coordinate major capital improvements with the City Engineer and departments.
• Manage fleet/garage operations and equipment purchases; respond to citizen service requests.
