Job summary

The City of Cambridge seeks a Superintendent of Streets & Bridges to lead maintenance of streets, sidewalks, sewers, and stormwater, and to oversee public-way permitting. Qualifications

• Experience interpreting local, state, and federal laws related to accessibility, sewer use, and stormwater management.
• Knowledge of MUTCD as it relates to construction in the public way.
• Experience implementing Complete Streets designs emphasizing bicyclists and pedestrians.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise crews performing street, sewer, sidewalk maintenance and construction in the public way; oversee related contracts.
• Manage 24-hour response for sewer backups, emergency roadway defects, snow operations, and off-hours staffing.
• Oversee winter weather operations, including pre-season planning, storm response, and post-storm operations.
