Job summary

Jefferson Parish is hiring to establish an employment list for the East Jefferson vacancy in the Department of Engineering. The role involves coordinating inspections, reviewing designs, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards.

You will collaborate with parish departments, engineering firms, utilities, labs, contractors, and homeowners. Under supervision, you will perform inspections, budgeting, estimating, and field design adjustments as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires current Class IV Water Distribution license issued by the Louisiana State Department of Health & Hospitals.
• Experience in inspection, construction, and/or maintenance/repair of municipal waterlines, sewers, or drainage outfalls.
• Substitution: Bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of experience; Associate's degree for two years.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inspections of engineering assignments for the Department of Engineering.
• Perform skilled inspections and project oversight of construction, repair and maintenance projects and conditions.
• Coordinate with Parish departments, engineering/architect firms, utility companies, testing labs, contractors and homeowners.
• Assist with budgeting, estimating and field design changes due to unforeseen problems.
• Essential, emergency duty status work.
