Job summary

The City of Casa Grande is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to work in Public Works and related divisions. The role includes operating asphalt rollers, dump trucks, sweepers, and other heavy equipment, with responsibilities that span street maintenance, drainage, and related tasks.

Applicants must possess a High School diploma or GED and a valid Arizona Class A CDL with a tanker endorsement, with at least 3 years of driving and equipment operation experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience driving trucks and operating equipment.
• Possession of a valid Arizona Commercial Driver’s License Class A with tanker endorsement.
• Special technical certifications may be required for some work assignments.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment in accordance with safety regulations.
• Perform maintenance and service work on roads, streets, drainage, and related infrastructure.
• Maintain dirt roads, asphalt repair, and concrete work as part of street maintenance.
• In Solid Waste, collect waste, operate heavy equipment to handle containers, and transport debris.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and routine maintenance on trucks and equipment.
