Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Maintenance and/or construction experience
• Possession of required trainings and certifications may be substituted by experience
• Must have or be able to complete ICs 100 and 700 courses within six months of hire

Responsibilities

• Assists with installation, maintenance and repair projects; operates non-specialized equipment.
• Cuts hedges and grass, trims and removes trees, weeds, etc., maintains flower beds and plants.
• Performs custodial and housekeeping tasks.
• Paints buildings, structures and equipment; replaces light bulbs.
• Lays pipe, builds or repairs sidewalks, repairs roofs, builds driveways.
• Performs minor carpentry work, builds partition walls.
• Cleans and builds catch basins, pours asphalt, patches potholes.
• Installs, maintains and repairs irrigation systems.
• Repairs and replaces broken pipes; cleans drainage ditches.
• Helps build and repair streets; performs minor masonry work.
• Operates dump trucks, riding mowers and other equipment; uses various hand tools.
