Job summary

City of Kent, WA seeks a Land Survey Technician to perform fieldwork and office analysis for city projects, shaping streets, utilities and facilities. You will operate data collectors, robotic total stations, GNSS devices, drones, and CAD/GIS tools while producing accurate survey deliverables.

The ideal candidate has a two-year degree in Surveying Technology or related field and at least two years of land surveying experience. This full-time, benefited position is not represented by a union.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited two-year college with a degree in Surveying Technology or related field.
• Two (2) years or more of progressively responsible experience in Land Surveying.
• Proficiency with surveying and drafting; familiarity with engineering applications and computer survey programs.

Responsibilities

• Operate land survey field equipment (Data Collectors, Robotic Total Stations, GNSS, drones)
• Record legible survey notes according to procedures
• Prepare cut sheets and maps for construction managers and contractors
• Locate and set survey monuments per regulations and update monument control network
• Read and interpret legal descriptions and draft exhibits using CAD/GIS data
