Job summary

The City of Boca Raton is seeking a motorized equipment operator to support public works operations. You will drive dump trucks and other equipment to transport materials, perform routine maintenance, and support construction tasks in a coastal city context.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least six months of experience operating motorized equipment. A Florida Class B CDL is required, with safety compliance and background checks part of the pre-employment

Qualifications

• General knowledge of the principles and practices of operating and servicing trucks and related light motorized construction and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; mechanical aptitude; ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment; awareness of safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Operates a dump truck and other equipment in connection with the transportation of dirt, sand, stone, gravel, asphalt, rock, and supplies.
• Operates a light truck in carrying tools, equipment, and supplies to and from jobs.
• Operates tractor cutting grass, edges bike paths, trims trees, and patches drainpipes.
• Operates medium to heavy equipment.
• Performs maintenance and construction work as necessary.
• Performs related tasks as required.
