Job summary

The City of Sunrise is seeking an experienced heavy equipment operator to maintain streets, sidewalks, drainage, and related infrastructure. Under supervision, you will operate tandem dump trucks, loaders, backhoes and other machinery, perform routine maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety rules.

Requirements include a Florida Class A CDL, a high school diploma or GED, and considerable experience with construction equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred.
• Considerable experience in street, sidewalk, and drainage repair and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of heavy equipment safely (dump trucks, rollers, loaders, backhoes).
• Perform routine maintenance checks and minor servicing.
• Install and maintain stormwater drainage pipes and structures.
• Maintain records and report work completed.
• Be available for emergency calls when needed.
