The City of Jacksonville Beach is seeking an Equipment Operator I to perform skilled work operating motorized equipment for the construction, repair, and maintenance of streets, utilities, storm drainage, and related facilities. The role works under regular supervision and may supervise other workers.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of relevant experience, and a valid Florida driver's license.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience operating motorized equipment for public works.
Valid Florida driver's license and must obtain a Class B CDL within six months of employment.
Willingness to work rotating standby, overtime, weekends as assigned.

Responsabilités

Operates construction, excavation, hauling, and maintenance equipment including dump trucks and backhoes for streets, utilities, and drainage.
Transports tools and equipment to and from job sites.
Complies with traffic control standards within rights-of-way.
Inspects and maintains tools, equipment, and vehicles; performs routine maintenance and minor repairs.
Performs related public works and grounds maintenance tasks as assigned.
