Job summary

The Town of Hillsborough is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to support municipal public works operations, including sanitation, street maintenance, and storm response. Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED with 6 months related experience.
Valid Class B CDL at hire; Class A CDL and Aerial Lift Truck cert within 6 months.
NIMS 100/700/800 certification required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

Operates CDL-required vehicles on municipal trash routes, including solid waste trucks, rear-loaders, automated side-loaders, grapple trucks, leaf trucks, and dump trucks.
Collects residential refuse and transports to the landfill; provides back-door service for qualified residents.
Performs asphalt maintenance with hotbox, cold-patch materials, and related tools.
Maintains town parks, trails, facilities, and stormwater infrastructure.
Provides on-call emergency response for severe weather and debris cleanup.
Distributes and picks up recycling/garbage containers for events; communicates routes and policies to residents.
Performs routine servicing and safe operation of trucks and equipment; maintains safe work zones.
