The Town of Hillsborough is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to support municipal public works operations, including sanitation, street maintenance, and stormwater upkeep. CDL driving is required for various solid waste routes and equipment operation across town facilities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED and 6 months of related experience or equivalent.
  • Experience operating CDL vehicles and public works equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operates CDL-required vehicles on municipal trash routes including solid waste trucks and other reel vehicles.
  • Collects residential refuse and yard waste; provides back-door service for qualified residents and delivers rollout carts.
  • Performs asphalt maintenance and repair using hotbox and cold-patch materials.
  • Maintains town parks, facilities, trails, and stormwater infrastructure.
  • Responds to emergencies and severe weather cleanup; on-call for emergencies.
  • Installs seasonal décor and supports events with delivery of containers and barricades.
  • Performs routine servicing and cleaning of trucks and equipment; maintains safe work zones.
