Job summary

Distro is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering and Transportation to lead its Engineering and Transportation Divisions within the Department of Public Works. This senior role oversees planning, design, and execution of major public works and capital-improvement projects, with accountability for budgets, staff development, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 6 years of full-time paid experience; at least 2 years in supervisory capacity.
Associate degree in Engineering or related field with 8 years of full-time paid experience; at least 2 years supervisory.

Responsibilities

Lead Engineering and Transportation leadership and activities across capital-projects.
Direct design, bidding, construction management, and closeout of projects.
Oversee capital budgets, financial controls, and grant-reimbursement processes.
Coordinate with Planning, Finance, and Grant Administrator for funding and compliance.
Supervise, coach, and develop engineering staff and align work with citywide priorities.
Represent the company before boards and public agencies and ensure regulatory compliance.
