Job summary

City of Red Wing is seeking a qualified Electrician to perform skilled electrical work across City infrastructure, including water and wastewater facilities, airport, and street lighting. The role involves installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, with permits filed under the master electrician records.

The position supports a Monday–Friday schedule, standard 8-hour days, and a strong emphasis on safety and city operations.

Qualifications

• Master Electrician license in Minnesota or equivalent.
• Minimum of four years of experience as an Electrician.
• Two-year trade certification in Electrical Construction and Maintenance or equivalent.
• Minnesota Master “A” Electrician’s License and a valid Minnesota Class D driver’s license (Wisconsin license desired).
• Ability to perform physical work and work around heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade, maintain, and repair electrical systems for City infrastructure.
• Install and maintain street lighting for city areas and parks.
• Maintain and repair electrical systems at city facilities including airport and water/wastewater sites.
• Prepare and file electrical permits and coordinate inspections.
• Respond to emergency calls and on-call duties as required.
