Job summary

City of Frisco is seeking an experienced Director of Public Works to lead a multi-divisional department serving a fast-growing city. The role directs street maintenance, water and wastewater systems, stormwater, and right-of-way operations while aligning with the city’s strategic plan.

The ideal candidate will bring technical credibility and hands-on leadership, building relationships with elected officials, city leadership, employees, and the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field.
• Five to seven years of progressive leadership in municipal public works, including at least five years as director or assistant director.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas is preferred but not required.
• Strong financial management and policy development skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for Public Works.
• Oversee operating and capital budgets and long-range planning.
• Collaborate with the City Manager's Office, City Council, and community.
• Ensure department compliance with state and federal rules governing water and wastewater.
