Job summary

Public Works Department, Utility Worker - Water

The City is accepting applications for a Utility Worker position in the City of Pendleton’s Public Works Department, Water Division. The position will perform maintenance activities related to water supply facilities, booster stations, reservoirs, valves, hydrants, and water meters; installation of water services; meter reading, re-reads, shut-offs, turn-ons; and other areas as assigned. Duties include a variety of work from manual labor to operation of light and moderately heavy equipment.

Requirements

• Ability to skillfully and safely operate equipment such as tractors, loaders, etc., experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to work at strenuous tasks in all types of weather, and ability to work occasional overtime
• Position is physically demanding and requires considerable walking, bending, stooping, and lifting
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and have a Class A Commercial driver's license within 1 year of hire

Salary range is $4,190-$5,641 per month DOQ plus excellent benefits.
