Job summary

The City of Murphy Public Works Department seeks a Crew Leader to direct and participate in the work activities of Maintenance Workers I and II, overseeing equipment operations, construction, and repairs across water, wastewater, streets, and traffic control. You’ll ensure safety, compliance, and quality while coordinating with supervisors to meet city standards.

This role follows a Monday–Friday 7:00am–3:30pm schedule, with on-call duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of related construction, maintenance, and repair experience.
• 1 year of supervisory experience in Public Works or construction.
• Texas Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement; good driving record.
• TCEQ Class C Water Distribution License.
• TCEQ Class II Wastewater Collections License.

Responsibilities

• Direct and participate in work activities of Maintenance Workers I and II.
• Inspect work to ensure compliance with City standards and policies.
• Operate and oversee vehicles, equipment, and machinery used in Public Works.
• Review plans and specs to ensure proper installation of Public Works systems.
• Maintain equipment, records, and safety practices.
• Assist during emergencies and special events.
