Job summary

City of Greenacres is seeking a qualified public works landscape technician to join the team in maintaining roadways, drainage and grounds to City standards. The role supports planning, supervision and daily maintenance activities across parks and streetscapes.

You will assist in procurement, prepare specifications and coordinate with other departments while enforcing safety rules and quality control on site. A valid Florida CDL and multiple certifications are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum three years of landscape maintenance or related Public Works experience.
• At least one year as lead worker or supervisor.
• Possession of CDL Class B with endorsements or ability to obtain.
• Certifications in Traffic Control, Stormwater, Maintenance of Traffic, Playground Inspection or pesticide licensing are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, supervision and completion of work with staff, ensuring adherence to City policies.
• Assist Supervisor with procurement by researching cost effective materials and services.
• Prepare specifications, requisition documents, evaluate suppliers and ensure compliance with purchase orders.
• Identify employee training needs and provide ongoing feedback to performance.
• Coordinate division repair and maintenance activities with other City Departments.
• Enforce safety procedures and monitor work environment to ensure safety.
• Perform roadway, drainage, landscape and related maintenance tasks.
