Job summary

Clallam County is seeking an Engineer I – EIT to perform professional engineering and project management for public works projects including roads, bridges, drainage, sewer and utilities. Under supervision, you will plan, design, permitting, bidding, construction, and inspection to deliver safe, cost-effective infrastructure.

You will prepare plans, cost estimates, and reports; coordinate with regulators, contractors, and the public; and support traffic safety and surveying activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Knowledge of applicable engineering standards, regulations, and permitting processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to coordinate with regulatory agencies and the public.

Responsibilities

• Prepare plans, cost estimates, and reports for public works projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and the public.
• Administer and inspect construction work; ensure compliance with standards and permits.
• Prepare contract specifications and bid analyses; oversee project documentation.
