Job summary

The City of Carson is seeking an Associate Civil Engineer to join its transportation and public works teams. The ideal candidate will hold a California PE license, have five years of civil engineering experience, and demonstrate hands-on design and construction inspection expertise.

Responsibilities include planning capital improvement projects, coordinating with agencies, and delivering public works facilities with strong communication and CAD skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field and California PE license.
• Five years of professional civil engineering experience preferred.
• Hands-on design and construction inspection experience with infrastructure.
• Proficiency in CAD and strong written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate capital improvement projects and professional duties.
• Engage in design, inspection, and contract administration for public works.
• Coordinate with other departments and outside agencies for approvals.
• Prepare plans, specifications, and budgets for public works projects.
• Inspect project sites and interpret specifications and city policy.
