The City of Live Oak seeks an Assistant Director of Public Works to lead Streets and Stormwater operations, supervise staff, and guide policy and budget decisions. You will coordinate with regional and state agencies, manage capital projects, and ensure conformance with City standards.

You will oversee contracts, prepare cost estimates, and report project progress to City Council, ensuring efficient operations and dependable service to the community.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and seven years of municipal public works experience, including five years in management.
• Valid State driver’s license is required.

• Directs daily operations of Public Works Streets and Stormwater; plans, prioritizes, and assigns tasks and projects.
• Monitors work, develops staff skills, and evaluates performance.
• Researches, develops, and recommends policies; analyzes department needs and processes.
• Meets with staff to discuss workload, priorities, and problems; prepares schedules.
• Liaises with regional organizations and State/Federal agencies.
• Writes analytical reports and prepares cost estimates for Capital Improvement Projects.
• Manages budgets, contracts, and annual department expenditures.
• Reviews plans for conformance with City requirements and coordinates with consultants.
• Administers contracts and oversees bids; maintains communication with engineers.
• Prepares monthly status reports for Commissions and City Council.
