Contra Costa County seeks an Accountant I for the Public Works Department to perform routine accounting tasks and learn more complex duties while supporting financial reporting. The role emphasizes accuracy, organization, and ethical standards within a collaborative team.

The position handles procurement and purchasing tasks, budget adjustments, journals, and deposits, producing regular financial reports and assisting with year-end closing and budget processes in a dynamic county environment.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or closely related field; or CPA certification.
• Internal substitution: 4 years of Accounting Technician experience may substitute for education.

Responsabilidades

• Working with various accounting systems.
• Handling tasks related to procurement cards and purchasing.
• Submitting budget adjustments, journals, and deposits.
• Producing monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual accounting reports.
• Assisting in completing year-end closing and fiscal year budget.
