Job summary

NC Department of Information Technology Transportation Division is seeking a Public Web Content Accessibility Analyst for its EHRA Early Career program. You will review public content for accessibility, guide remediations, and collaborate with the NCDOT Communications Office to ensure compliance and usability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an IT-related field from an accredited institution.
• Associate degree in computer science or an IT-related field or related technical degree with one year of relevant experience.
• High School or GED with four years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Conduct manual accessibility testing using assistive technologies and keyboard navigation.
• Review automated accessibility scan results and verify issues across public-facing content.
• Remediate accessibility barriers in Drupal, SharePoint, PDFs, and Office documents.
• Provide actionable guidance to editors to improve accessibility in web and document workflows.
• Maintain automated scanning coverage and track remediation activities.
• Collaborate with Transportation Web Systems to resolve accessibility issues.
• Support communications staff with best practices for accessible content creation.
• Assist with accessibility improvements during website updates or new content initiatives.
