Qualifications

• Experience in underground utility or construction preferred but not required.
• Experience with water, sewer, or HDD is a plus.
• Willing to train the right candidate.
• Must be dependable and have a strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow directions and work well as part of a crew.
• Must be able to perform physical labor including digging, lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Outdoor work in varying weather and jobsite conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist crews with installation of underground water and sewer mains and services
• Assist with HDD operations
• Install and handle pipe, fittings, valves, hydrants, manholes, and other utility components
• Perform digging, trenching, backfilling, and general site work
• Hand dig around existing utilities as needed
• Assist with jobsite setup and cleanup
• Load, unload, and move pipe, tools, equipment, and materials
• Safely use hand and power tools
• Work around excavators, loaders, directional drills, vacuum equipment, and other heavy equipment
• Assist equipment operators and other crew members as needed
• Follow company and jobsite safety procedures
• Perform other construction duties as assigned

Backbone Underground Inc is seeking a dependable and hardworking Underground Utilities Construction Laborer to join our team. We specialize in public utility construction, including water, sewer, and horizontal directional drilling (HDD).

Job Responsibilities

• Assist crews with installation of underground water and sewer mains and services
• Assist with horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations
• Install and handle pipe, fittings, valves, hydrants, manholes, and other utility components
