Job summary

ELLA Contracting, Lp is seeking a dedicated Laborer to support underground utility construction projects. The role involves assisting with installation, maintenance, and repair of water, sewer, gas, and telecom infrastructure while adhering to safety protocols on outdoor sites.

The ideal candidate is physically capable, detail-oriented, and able to work as part of a team in varied weather conditions. Previous construction experience is a plus but not required; OSHA 10/30 certifications are

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous construction or utility work is a plus but not required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Site Preparation & Maintenance: clear debris, prepare trenches, maintain hazard-free areas.
• Trenching & Excavation: perform manual digging with hand tools and operate around machinery safely.
• Utility Installation & Repair: assist in laying and connecting pipes, support repairs.
• Material & Equipment Handling: load/unload and store tools and materials properly.
• Safety & Compliance: follow PPE rules and report hazards to supervisors.
• Support for Equipment Operators: assist with spotting and signaling as needed.
• Utility Locating & Mapping: help identify existing lines for accurate placement.
