Job summary

The Florida Legislature Office of Public Counsel seeks analysts to provide professional, technical support in complex utility litigation impacting Florida’s customers. You will work under the Chief Public Utilities Analyst to develop multi-disciplinary skills across accounting, finance, economics, engineering, and public utility regulation.

You will guide attorneys with technical advice, review filings, and support hearings that affect 18 million Florida customers.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree from an accredited university; at least five years in related multidisciplinary areas.
• Experience in utility regulation is valued but not required.
• Ability to analyze complex regulatory filings and data.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for significant cases affecting Florida utility customers.
• Develop multidisciplinary skills in accounting, finance, economics, and public utility regulation.
• Support hearings on rate cases, data center tariffs, and storm restoration.
• Prepare memoranda and briefs to guide industry staff and attorneys.
