Job summary

The Department of Commerce, Division of Public Staff Utilities Commission in North Carolina seeks a Public Utilities Engineering Manager (NS) to lead a team of engineers and analysts. This is a full-time position with State benefits and a salary range of $81,620–$133,000, offering the opportunity to influence electric utility policy and rate matters in the North

Qualifications

  • Moderate to advanced knowledge of engineering principles applied to electric utility issues.
  • Experience supervising engineers, analysts, and staff.
  • Ability to provide expert opinions to the Director of the Energy Division and other leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise administrative duties, assign work, and track milestones.
  • Ensure utility rates are properly determined and tariffs are followed.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members.
  • Support regulatory work and prepare technical input for ratemaking and service issues.
